Chapter 6 Roy's Best, Middle, and Worst Strategies
Chapter 6 Roy's Best, Middle, and Worst Strategies
Ryu's refusal left Roy dumbfounded.
Liu said coldly, "I have my own things to do too. I can't keep hunting monsters for you forever. Don't forget, adventurers also have their own private time."
Upon hearing this, Roy's heart sank. His dream of punching the Orario Familia and kicking the Black Dragon was gone.
The cattle and horses we finally managed to catch are unwilling to work 996 or 007. This is outrageous and intolerable!
Roy's mind raced. "You want to assassinate the adventurers of the Dark Familia?"
"That's right!"
Ryu wasn't surprised that Roy knew her plans; this mysterious boy seemed to know everything, and his wisdom was comparable to that of a god.
"Understood."
Roy nodded. Ryu was only helping him fight monsters on a whim. It would be best if she could revive Alexie Rofer and the others. Revenge was still necessary.
After a moment of contemplation, Roy gritted his teeth and stomped his foot. To prevent his henchmen from escaping, the Dark Familia, huh? I'll deal with you today!
Roy asked, "What are you planning to do next? Kill someone? I might be able to give you some advice, after all, we're in the same boat."
After hesitating for a few seconds, Ryu said, "I plan to ask Lady Astrea to leave Orario, and then assassinate the Dark Familia adventurers and those involved."
Ryu's face was cold and filled with murderous intent. Her mad fire of revenge might even burn innocent people. She did not want to tarnish the reputation of the righteous clan and let Lady Astrea see her like this.
"really!"
Roy thought to himself that after the annihilation of his entire clan, sixteen-year-old Ryu asked the goddess Astrea to leave Orario and became a beast of revenge. Because her assassination targets even included guild members, she was later blacklisted by the guild and a bounty of 8000 million falies was placed on her head.
"That's it. Don't stop me, or I'll kill you too!" Liu said coldly. Having only met for less than two hours, she couldn't possibly have any feelings for Roy. Anyone who stood in her way of revenge would die!
"When did I say I was going to stop you?"
"That would be best!"
Roy asked, "I just have one question. Orario is so big, and there are so many Dark Familias. How long would it take you to complete your revenge all by yourself? Miss Alexie Rofer is probably getting impatient in the Underworld."
Liu remained silent.
Roy remembered that it took Ryu three years to wipe out the remnants of the Dark Familia.
As for why it's called a remnant, the main force of the Dark Faction was wiped out by Finn and his men from the Loki Familia in the past two years. Ryu's three years of hard-earned assassinations were actually just killing some LV.1 and LV.2 small fry.
If it were an adventurer at level 5 or 6, Roy might not have said anything, since he couldn't fight city hall. But these trash Dark Families were blocking his path to leveling up, so how could he tolerate it?
Roy said, "I'll help you. Efficiency is key. Let's quickly eliminate the Dark Familia; it'll benefit both of us!"
Ryu's lips parted slightly. "Why are you helping me?"
"Don't make me feel guilty, girl."
Roy said that, in fact, resurrecting Alexie Rofer and the others was just an empty promise. He had no idea whether it could be done or not, while Ryu had genuinely helped him hunt down Doma.
The equipment in the system is divided into two levels: low-level equipment corresponds to adventurers at levels 1 and 2, and high-level equipment corresponds to adventurers at levels 3 and 4. If you put it that way, it might make sense.
Roy doesn't like owing anyone anything.
Seeing that Roy was unwilling to reveal the reason, Ryu didn't press further. Instead, she became slightly interested in Roy's words, "Eliminate the Rudra Familia as soon as possible. Do you know how many of them there are? That's impossible!"
Even at level 4, she was mentally prepared for a long period of assassination.
"Never mind whether I can do it or not, just drink these two bottles of potion first," Roy said, tossing two bottles of low-level life potion to Ryu.
Liu caught the two bottles of medicine, her brow furrowing. She hadn't even seen where Roy had taken the medicine from.
Looking at the ruby-red liquid inside the bottle, and then at Roy, it turned out that the other party had already discovered that her injuries from the encounter with Zagnat had not fully recovered.
After burying the belongings of her fellow clansmen on the eighteenth floor, she returned to the ground and collapsed in Roy's tent.
"No, this is just a transaction. I won't accept your things." Ryu shook her head, appearing very stubborn in this regard; she was unwilling to owe anyone anything.
Roy snapped, "Enough nonsense. If you want revenge, listen to me. You're prepared to use any means necessary for assassination, yet you can't even accept two bottles of potion?"
What are you being so stubborn about at this point? You threw all your principles to the winds when you slept in his bed, didn't you!
This move had an immediate effect on Ryu. It was impossible for a sixteen-year-old LV.4 adventurer not to have some arrogance. Provoked by Roy, Ryu gripped the two bottles of potions tightly and glared at Roy through gritted teeth.
Ryu uncorked the bottle and gulped down both vials of medicine as if he were drinking Roy's blood.
The medicine was very effective.
A faint emerald green light emanated from Liu's body, restoring 40% of her HP in 20 seconds. Her internal injuries healed at a visible speed.
Liu's eyes widened in surprise. What a potent potion! It was comparable to a premium medicine worth ten thousand fali in a pharmacy, yet it was just casually tossed to her, and she swallowed it in one gulp.
Roy was unaware of Ryu's thoughts; his mind was racing as he considered his revenge plan.
There are several strategies, from best to worst, to help Ryū get revenge.
The best strategy is to grind dungeons and level up to increase strength and then crush the Dark Familia. This is safe and secure, but it takes a long time. Ryu won't see short-term results, so he definitely won't be willing to do it.
The worst option is assassination, which takes longer, is dangerous and unstable, and Ryu might even fail. Without a LV.4 henchman, Roy is even more unwilling.
People like compromises, and Roy is no exception. The middle strategy is a bit more complicated and risky, but it can eliminate the opponent in a short time.
Roy said meaningfully, "Go see your family's chief deity first. Her clan was wiped out, and she lives alone in the mansion. The remaining clan members don't go back to see her. It's pitiful to think about."
Liu bit her lower lip, biting harder and harder.
Liu lowered her head and followed behind Roy.
After crossing the main street and turning several corners, I unknowingly arrived at a corner of the northern district of Orario, where a white stone mansion stood—the Star Garden, the headquarters of the Astrea Familia.
Looking at the mansion in front of her, Ryu instinctively wanted to back away and escape. She couldn't bear to step into this place filled with memories of Alicia and Kaguya.
"I swear an oath to the sword and wings of justice!"
The oath of justice engraved on the plaque felt like a heavy mountain pressing down on Liu, making it hard for her to breathe and preventing her from raising her head.
The dashing demeanor she had displayed when she effortlessly defeated the Upper Moon demon Doma was completely gone. The golden-haired elf before her was now a scarred girl, her trembling hands clutching her body, her sky-blue eyes devoid of light.
All of this was observed by Roy.
