Chapter 121 Mature women are the best at calming the nerves.
Qin Ya was on the second floor, and Bai Xinran was in a guest room on the first floor. Both room doors were closed.
The faint sound of a live broadcast could be heard coming from inside the room.
Qin Lu helped Yu Heng sit down on the sofa and turned to close the door.
"I'm thirsty." Yu Heng leaned back.
Qin Lu paused for a moment, closed the door, went to the kitchen, poured a glass of warm water, and handed it over.
Yu Heng took the cup, drank a couple of sips, and placed it on the coffee table: "Could you bring down my laptop from my room?"
"What do you need a computer for?"
"Something came up." Yu Heng looked up at her. "Upstairs, in the master bedroom on the third floor."
Qin Lu looked at him, pursed her lips, and turned to go upstairs.
She pushed open the master bedroom door; the room was very tidy.
The laptop was on the bedside table, its power cord neatly tucked away.
She picked up her laptop and had just reached the first floor when Yu Heng said, "And please get my phone charger too."
"What else?" Qin Lu frowned. "Tell me everything at once!"
"That's all," Yu Heng said with a forced smile. "Thank you for your hard work, mature female teacher."
"You're so irresponsible!" Qin Lu had no choice but to go back to get the charger.
After she went upstairs, Yu Heng still managed to smile through his tense expression. Qin Lu was indeed becoming more and more feminine.
Qin Lu placed her laptop and charger on the coffee table and was about to straighten up when Yu Heng said, "I need to use the restroom. Help me over."
"Can't you jump over there yourself?" Qin Lu squinted at him. "The bathroom is right there, less than ten meters away."
"My feet hurt, and it hurts even more when I jump," Yu Heng said matter-of-factly. "Could you help me up?"
He could jump over by himself, but with Qin Lu there, he would definitely want her to come with him. This could be considered a kind of obedience test.
Qin Lu took a deep breath and reached out to help him up.
Yu Heng put his arm around her shoulder again, his weight pressing down on her slightly. Qin Lu steadied herself and helped him walk towards the bathroom on the first floor.
When they reached the door, Yu Heng didn't let go.
"Let go," Qin Lu said. "What are we waiting for if we don't go inside?"
"I can't stand up if you let go," Yu Heng said. "Help me inside."
Qin Lu frowned: "How can I follow you to the restroom?"
"What's the big deal?" Yu Heng turned to look at her, lowering his voice. "It's not like you haven't seen it before."
"Yu Heng, stop messing around." Qin Lu lowered her voice as well. "Qin Ya and Bai Xinran are both here."
"They're livestreaming, they won't come out," Yu Heng said. "Hurry up, we can't hold it in any longer."
Qin Lu glared at him, hesitated for a moment, and then helped him into the bathroom.
The space is small; it's a bit cramped for two people to go in.
Yu Heng leaned against the sink with one hand, while his other hand rested on Qin Lu's shoulder.
"Stand still," she said, her voice low, "and hurry up."
"What's the rush?" Yu Heng's voice was right next to her ear. "Help me."
"You twisted your ankle, not your hand!" She tried to pull away. "Do it yourself!"
"It's really no use," Yu Heng said. "My legs can't hold the weight, and I can't untie it with one hand."
He made it sound plausible, and Qin Lu bit her lower lip.
"Just this once," she said.
Yu Heng smiled but didn't say anything.
"Are you all done?" she said, her voice a little dry.
Yu Heng's ears were bright red and his neck was flushed pink, but he still managed to maintain a serious expression.
This contrast struck him as particularly interesting.
"Okay," Yu Heng said, "Thank you, teacher!"
"Yu Heng!" Qin Lu pinched her arm. "Why aren't you calling me by my name now? Are you doing this on purpose?"
"Why are you in such a hurry?" Yu Heng said with a smile. "I'm just showing respect to my teacher."
"Come out yourself!" Qin Lu opened the bathroom door and left first. "I'm not going to bother with you anymore!"
Yu Heng, holding onto the door frame, hopped back onto the sofa on one foot.
As he sat down, he deliberately hissed.
Qin Lu couldn't help but turn around: "Did we bump into each other again?"
"Yeah," Yu Heng said, "but it's okay."
Qin Lu walked to the sofa and glanced at his ankle.
It was wrapped in bandages, so you couldn't see anything.
She hesitated for a moment, but still sat down next to him, one person's distance away.
"The injury from playing basketball was due to a school activity," Qin Lu said. "It's reasonable for me to give you a few extra days of leave."
"Sure, this is a good opportunity to rest," Yu Heng leaned back on the sofa. "But food is a problem."
"Aren't you going to order takeout?" Qin Lu said.
"I'm tired of ordering takeout every day." Yu Heng turned to look at her. "Can you cook?"
Qin Lu raised an eyebrow: "You want me to cook for you?"
"Is it not possible?" Yu Heng said, "Look at my feet, I definitely can't cook for myself. Although Bai Xinran is here at night, she has to do live broadcasts, so she can't always keep an eye on me."
"But I don't know how to cook," Qin Lu said, frowning. "You should just order takeout."
"You should feel sorry for me, if you can't, bring me food from the cafeteria. Eating too much takeout isn't healthy," Yu Heng said seriously.
"Anyone else could do this, right?" Qin Lu squinted at him. "There are so many people who care about you."
After saying this, Qin Lu looked away from Yu Heng's face.
There seemed to be a hint of sourness in his words. After realizing it, her cheeks felt a little numb. She was actually jealous of him?
Yu Heng stared at her, a half-smile playing on his lips.
"What are you laughing at?" Qin Lu felt uncomfortable under his gaze.
"I'm laughing at how cute you are," Yu Heng said.
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Qin Lu's face flushed. "You're just saying such shameless things."
"They are them, and you are you," Yu Heng said again. "I just want to eat the food you brought, why are you bothering with other people's business?"
When chatting with married women or mature women, just be as cheesy as you can; they'll fall for it.
Although Qin Lu is not an ordinary married woman, this also applies to her.
Even the most virtuous woman can be won over by persistent suitors, otherwise Qin Lu wouldn't have been won over by him.
However, he didn't want Qin Lu to be too relaxed and intimate with him. A little distance made things more interesting. He liked Qin Lu's contradictory nature.
It would be meaningless if I really ended up like Bai Xinran.
Of course, everyone has their own personality, and it's unlikely that Qin Lu will become like Bai Xinran.
It's fine as it is now. Even though I've already eaten it, I still have to put in a little effort to enjoy it every time.
"Just for the next few days. Tell me in advance what you want to eat," Qin Lu pursed her lips. "Once your foot is better, you'll figure something out yourself."
"Okay." Yu Heng's lips curved into a smile. "My feet still hurt a little."
"What do you mean?" Qin Lu squinted at him, sensing that his smile was somewhat malicious.
"Teacher, could you help me distract myself?" His eyes revealed his undisguised intention.
"Yu Heng," Qin Lu said in a low voice, "Qin Ya and Bai Xinran are upstairs."
"So what?" Yu Heng said, "They're not coming down."
"You really are..." Qin Lu glared at her, "Thinking about this kind of thing at a time like this?"
"Young people have a lot of energy," Yu Heng said with a smile, "and mature women are the best at cooling you down."
"Oh dear!" Qin Lu found Yu Heng's words offensive and said shyly, "Yu Heng!"
