#414 - Chapter 148: Visitors from the West

"I will follow your orders. Rest assured, if the Red Keep doesn't behave, I won't show any mercy," Tyrion said, bowing in acceptance.

Liu Yuan sat on Leviathan's back, turning to look at Tyrion and the ministers below. He shouted, "Alright, let's go!" With that, he steered Leviathan into the air, the dragon beating its wings and circling above Dragonstone. Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal followed closely behind, forming a magnificent spectacle in the sky before flying north.

The ministers watched the departing dragons, their hearts filled with anticipation. They knew this would be a decisive battle, and their queen would lead them to victory. Tyrion clapped his hands, drawing everyone's attention. He said, "Alright, gentlemen, believe that under the Queen's leadership, this war will surely be victorious. We still have much to do, so let's get back to work."

The officials nodded in agreement and turned to leave. They returned to their posts, starting to busy themselves. They needed to prepare supplies, organize transport fleets, and so on. Tyrion remained in place, pondering the future situation. He knew the struggle for the Iron Throne was no longer in doubt. The Queen had an absolute advantage in military strength; the only suspense in this war was in the North. He looked southwest, muttering to himself, "Dear sister, what should I do with you?"

Leviathan led the way, the four dragons flying north. The dragons were incredibly fast, flying over mountains and rivers, with mountain ranges and towns flashing quickly below. This flight was also a new experience for Daenerys. The cockpit was very comfortable, and she decided to install one for her own dragons when they grew larger.

At Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, Rickon, Sansa, and Arya watched as three large sailing ships, bearing the golden roaring lion banner, slowly entered the harbor.

Sandor withdrew his gaze: "It's the Lannister family's team, with the 'Kingslayer' leading them personally. He actually dares to come here, isn't he afraid the Starks will chop off his head?"

Rickon clenched his fists: "I heard he stabbed Father's leg in King's Landing. We should immediately seize him and hand him over to Robb for judgment!"

"Bang!" Arya kicked his greaves, saying, "Hound, what nonsense are you talking about? Don't be impulsive, Rickon. We are the proud Stark family; we uphold the ancient guest right. Since he has come to support the Night's Watch according to the ancient oath, we cannot lay a hand on him."

Sandor raised his hands: "I was just saying. I'm not the one with a grudge against the Lannisters."

At this moment, a small boat was lowered from the large sailing ship and rowed towards the shore. Standing on the boat was a man in ornate armor, none other than Jaime Lannister. Families supporting Daenerys, more or less, had some grievances with the Lannisters. Tyrion knew that Jaime was leading the team personally, and to avoid unnecessary conflicts, he used his authority to directly arrange for the Lannister ships to dock at Eastwatch-by-the-Sea.

The group quietly watched the small boat land. After Jaime Lannister disembarked, he walked straight towards Eastwatch Castle. He was only followed by a few soldiers, including Ser Bronn.

When Jaime reached the castle gate, he stopped and looked at Sansa and the others in front of the gate.

Jaime: "We meet again. You've grown up in the years since I last saw you." His gaze swept over them, finally landing on Brienne.

Sansa responded, "We're listening, 'Kingslayer'. Say what you have to say."

Jaime smiled slightly: "Now I am the Lord of Casterly Rock and Warden of the West. This time, I represent the Lannister family, responding to the ancient alliance as humans against the ancient evil god. Also, I hope to reconcile with the North; we don't want to see more bloodshed."

"Reconcile?" Sansa sneered, "We seem to have already reached a reconciliation; both sides have ceased fighting. But the North has not forgotten the many evils the Lannister family has done to us."

Jaime sighed: "I know it's not easy, but we must put aside our hatred to jointly fight the real enemy."

At this time, Arya spoke, "My father died. I saw him beheaded in public."

Jaime: "My father also died, and Joffrey. They were my closest relatives too."

Sansa hesitated for a moment, then said, "Alright, since you're here, you are a temporary ally. As for what to do with the Lannisters in the future, that's the Queen's concern."

Jaime nodded: "I hope our two families will reach a true reconciliation!" With that, he turned and entered the castle. Bronn bowed to the group.

Sansa watched Jaime walk away, lost in thought.

"Do you think he sincerely wants to reconcile?" Rickon asked.

"I don't know," Sansa shook her head. "But we can't easily trust him. However, if he's really willing to cooperate, perhaps we can use him to fight the White Walkers."

"Then what should we do?" Arya asked.

Sansa took a deep breath: "We need to discuss it with Robb, preferably without Mother knowing. With her hatred for the Lannister family, she might mess things up."

"Actually, people misunderstand the 'Kingslayer'. I was once assigned by Lady Catelyn to escort him to King's Landing. I was captured by Roose Bolton on the way, and Jaime saved me," Brienne couldn't help but defend Jaime.

Arya glanced at her: "My target is Cersei; the 'Kingslayer' isn't on my list."

Brienne continued, "Although he killed the Mad King, it was because the Mad King was going to burn the entire city. He did it to protect the civilians of the city."

After hearing this, Arya was silent for a moment, then said, "In any case, he is a traitor. He killed the king. I don't think the Queen will let him go."

Brienne sighed helplessly, knowing she couldn't change everyone's opinion of Jaime. She could only hope that time would prove everything and let people see the real Jaime Lannister.
